We had a wonderful two days of birding with Erin Woernley around the New Orleans area. She is a fantastic guide. She hears so many bird calls and chips that we either didn’t hear or didn’t recognize. She knows them all. Highly recommend!

My husband and I did a full day trip around New Orleans with Caleb. He was a great birding guide and got us more than 10 lifers. He had prepared and knew where to search for the birds we were looking for and included several different habitats. His identification skills by sound and site were incredible. He was also very informative about flora, dragonflies, butterflies, etc. He took a fabulous photo of a barred owl that we saw and then shared the photo with us. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Caleb.

Did a full day trip with Eryn, who was amazing! I am a novice, but Eryn got me seeing birds I would never have located on my own. I learned a lot, and got more lifers than I thought was possible on a very windy day. Itinerary included different habitats and was definitely worth doing! Kudos to Louisiana Birding and Eryn!

We went birding with John Nelson just after New Years in the New Orleans area. John was awesome. He prepared a wonderful half day of birding, exploring multiple habitats and helping us track down views of target species. John is super knowledgeable, we enjoyed learning about the natural history and management practices for all the areas we birded. We highly recommend John and Louisiana Birding Guides.

Nick Ramsey is a wonderful guide. On the trips I've had with him as my guide, I was astonished by his vast knowledge of both the birds, their habitat, and the other wildife we encountered. His passion is infectious. He is accomodating to all skill levels and individual interests. I look forward to my next trip with him.

My guide, Cameron was amazing. He was well prepared, he had scouted the birds I was targeting and had our trps mapped out. Cameron was also very knowledgable and friendly! James Smithers provided a high-quality birding experience for our mentees at Son of a Saint! This was the first time our boys went birding and by the end of the trip they were begging to bird again the following weekend! James provided his services in New Orleans and used his professional experience to locate the perfect spot for our mentees. We went to Sankofa and it was safe and an ideal amount of time to keep our boys engaged and on task. We have planned several additional outings with James and look forward to our next birding adventure! Thanks again!!

I've had the pleasure of birding with James on several trips. Not only is his bird knowledge second to none but he will work tirelessly to ensure that you see as many birds as possible. His warmth, humor and patience set him apart from others. He has an ability to tailor his message to connect with not only experienced birders but beginners and intermediates as well. James has a keen sense of hearing and can identify birds that I could not hear or see. His extraordinary ability to find birds in all places is mind boggling. He is very well respected by fellow birders, who are always keen to know what he has seen/located. I've spent many long days with him and never tire of his company. He has a great sense of humor and can carry on intelligent conversations of any topic. He continues to study and learn about birds & ecology for his own satisfaction but also his craft. In summary, every outing with James is a memorable one. With each trip I found that I have grown to be a better, stronger and more acute birder. I met Nick Ramsey at the Yellow Rails and Rice Festival in Southwestern Louisiana in October 2023, where he helped lead a couple of terrific field trips. Nick knows his birds, and how to find them and call them in for good looks. He’s got a great personality and he’s fun to be with. I’d bird with him again anytime.

I’ve had the opportunity to go on several birding trips guided by Nick Ramsey, and each time has been exceptional. He has an impressive knowledge of and passion for birds, and he’s enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with less experienced birders. I always end up learning so much and seeing things I would never have noticed otherwise! His positive attitude can make any birding experience great, rain or shine!

I met Nick through the Louisiana Ornithological Society and the Yellow Rails and Rice Festival. Nick is extremely knowledgeable in bird ID and habitat. He wants to know what you want to see and will help you find it. Nick is personable and went out of his way to cater to my driving needs. Nick created eBird checklists for each location we birded and shared them. I highly recommend Nick to anyone wanting a guide that loves birds, knows birds and focuses on you too.
